Welcome to Bakers & Cutlers Bristol
The Bakers and Cutlers Halls are situated in what remains of an historic 13th Century monastery which originally lay outside Bristol city walls. The two remaining halls that once made up the quadrangle, are likely to have been the library and the dormitories. The Bristol guilds took over from 1499 until the late seventeen hundreds, including the Guilds of Bakers and Cutlers whose titles we have appropriated for their present day names. Part of the site also used to be a Quaker meeting hall and its most recent incarnation was appropriately the Bristol Marriage Register.
Massive hand carved English Oak beamed ceilings, and huge arched windows create a pervading sense of peace and beauty amidst the hustle and bustle of a thoroughly modern city. These magnificent Halls each have their own entrance and a dedicated kitchen, the layout and seating plans are extremely flexible, with a total capacity of over 300 (see the table plans section for more details). The abundant natural lighting and city centre spaciousness make Bakers and Cutlers the perfect choice for your event.
